Numerous plans are in development and projects in design and implementation in the South Main Alliance area on an ongoing basis. These are funded, conducted and managed variously by private and government entities.
Major privately funded projects are underway for the Holocaust Museum Houston, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Menil Collection, The Rice University Ion Center, the TMC 3 Innovation Campus.
Public projects include METRO Next transit expansions and improvements, storm water management projects for bayous and city streets, major enhancements to the Zoo, NRG Park and Miller Outdoor Theatre, a bikeways system, community parking, walkable neighborhoods and livable centers.
