SMA Community Connect - Houston's Esports Revolution

CCLogo_SouthMainAlliance_HORIZ.png

“What is ‘esports’ and why is it a big deal?” Not an uncommon question these days. Forbes termed esports as a “quietly massive entertainment phenomenon”. With viewership surpassing traditional sporting events, like the Baseball World Series and the Super Bowl, esports is the rookie to watch this season. With global prowess, the esports market is quickly climbing the ranks in monetary value, too, with estimations exceeding $3 billion by 2022; a 150% increase in less than 5 years.(Goldman Sachs).

So what’s the big deal? Come find out why at the next South Main Alliance: Community Connect, where industry experts will demystify this phenomenon and what it could mean for Houston. See you there!
